Criterion Five: Transportation, Carbon Emission Reduction, and Creating a Clean and Healthy Environment
The college has adopted a Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) policy aimed at reducing carbon emissions and pollutants generated by transportation, as well as promoting sustainable mobility within the campus.
The college has provided two (2) electric vehicles (ZEV) for use inside the campus. With approximately 3,700 employees, the ratio of electric vehicles to staff members is one vehicle for every 1,350 employees.
Regarding fuel-powered vehicles, their number reaches about 750, including cars and motorcycles. The college has also allocated approximately 1,500 m² of space for bicycle parking to encourage the use of environmentally friendly transportation. The total parking area represents about 1.1% of the campus area.
To improve internal transportation, the college has introduced a short-distance shuttle service using electric ZEVs to transport students and staff within the campus. It also benefits from the university’s general transportation system.
Additionally, the college has constructed covered and illuminated walkways to encourage walking and ensure safe movement within the campus, thereby reducing reliance on vehicles and minimizing emissions.
As for road planning and organization, the college has developed a network of internal roads equipped with traffic signs, lighting, and guidance boards to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance a culture of safe and sustainable transportation.
