We seek to prepare highly qualified graduates who are trained to work in various branches of the biological sciences.◆ VISION
The Department of Biology constitutes one of the pillars of the scientific community, which is considered an essential foundation in societal movement. Therefore, the department aims to spread awareness and knowledge in biological fields by supplying the country with researchers and professors capable of dealing with modern developments worldwide, contributing to the development of our scientific, health, industrial, and environmental institutions, and solving the challenges obstructing their progress.◆ STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• General Objectives:
- ✔️ Keeping pace with global developments in all scientific fields, particularly in biological sciences.
- ✔️ Providing society and state institutions with scientific and technical expertise in biology to develop scientific, health, and environmental sectors.
- ✔️ Raising performance and quality levels to compete with advanced international universities.
• Educational Objectives:
- ✔️ Developing and updating academic curricula in both theoretical and practical aspects.
- ✔️ Enhancing scientific qualifications and performance of faculty members, researchers, and students.
- ✔️ Adopting modern technologies and developing research across various scientific fields.
• Scientific Research Objectives:
- ✔️ Finding solutions to contemporary environmental issues.
- ✔️ Studying and understanding prevalent pathogens in our environment and society to participate in finding effective treatments.
- ✔️ Utilizing biotechnology and genetic engineering research to develop various industries, such as medical, chemical, and food sectors.
- ✔️ Contributing to solving problems related to plant, animal, and microbial flora in Iraq, focusing on biodiversity and combating species extinction.
